The event was held at the InterContinental Bali on February 24, 2025, attracting participation from global experts, including Dr. Berry Juliandi, Director of Learning and Student Affairs at the Directorate General of Higher Education.

During his keynote presentation titled “Advancing Higher Education, Science & Technology for a Future Ready Nation,” Dr. Juliandi underscored the role of higher education in preparing future generations for a rapidly evolving global landscape. He highlighted the necessity of collaboration among educational institutions, research entities, and technology sectors for national development.
Dr. Juliandi noted that “higher education must serve as the hub for knowledge creation and dissemination, aligned with contemporary needs. By integrating cutting-edge technology and promoting cooperation across various sectors, impactful innovations can be achieved.”

He also addressed the interplay between higher education and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, which aims to bolster global partnerships for sustainable development. Dr. Juliandi emphasized the importance of collaboration among universities, industries, governments, and international organizations to address pressing global issues such as climate change, economic inequality, and digital transformation.
“Strategic partnerships, as outlined in SDG 17, enable optimization of resources and acceleration of innovation, ensuring inclusive and high-quality education for all,” he remarked.

Dr. Apt. Rita Rakhmawati, head of the International Cooperation and Internationalization Program Development Section at UNS, reinforced the institution’s commitment to fostering global collaboration. She indicated that events like AppliedHE Xchange 2025 offer a platform for establishing international partnerships that enhance the experiences of students and faculty.

Dr. Dona Budi Kharisma, who oversees the UNS Cooperation Sub-Directorate, discussed ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening relationships with international educational institutions and industries, asserting that these partnerships play a significant role in the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.
