“Multimedia University VR Student Wins Third Place at MDEC PDTI Outstanding Award 2024”
Muhammad Faris Fiqran Muhammad, a student specializing in Virtual Reality at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), has secured third place in the Outstanding Student category of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Premier Digital Tech Institution (PDTI) Outstanding Award 2024. The award ceremony was held on February 26, 2025, at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), coinciding with the PDTI Deans and Heads of Departments Meeting Q1 2025. Ts. Dendi Permadi, a lecturer from FCM, accepted the award on behalf of Faris and presented a cash prize of RM800.
PDTI Outstanding Awards Overview
The PDTI Outstanding Awards are conducted annually to honor institutions and individuals for their significant contributions and excellence in Malaysia’s digital technology sector. Since its establishment in 2017, this initiative, led by MDEC in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, has played a crucial role in nurturing digital talent and fostering innovation within the local tech industry.
