FIB Welcomes Inbound Students from Kasetsart University: A Showcase of Local Culture at Universitas Airlangga

On February 11, 2025, the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) hosted a welcoming ceremony for 17 inbound students from Kasetsart University, Thailand. The event took place in the Chairil Anwar Room, located in the FIB Building at Campus B-Dharmawangsa.
Welcoming Remarks
During the ceremony, Vice Dean III of FIB, Lina Puryanti, addressed the importance of the inbound program for both institutions. She expressed optimism that the experience would offer participants significant exposure to an international academic environment.
Collaboration with Kasetsart University
This partnership with Kasetsart University marks the second year of collaboration between the two institutions. The inbound students will engage in a range of academic and cultural activities over the course of three weeks, beginning on February 10, 2025.
Integration into Campus Life
Throughout the program, the inbound students will integrate into campus life at UNAIR, mirroring the experiences of regular students, to immerse themselves in Indonesian culture and daily routines. To facilitate this transition, several FIB students from UNAIR will serve as study companions during their stay.
Beyond Traditional Classroom Instruction
The inbound program encompasses a variety of activities beyond traditional classroom instruction. Students will have the opportunity to participate in cultural experiences, including classes in traditional music and dance. Additionally, excursions to significant cultural and historical sites in and around Surabaya are planned.
Excursions and Cultural Insights
Among the scheduled excursions are visits to Mount Bromo and the historical site of the Majapahit Kingdom in Trowulan, as well as trips to Banyuwangi and UNAIR’s Faculty of Health Sciences, Medicine, and Natural Sciences (FIKKIA). These activities are designed to offer inbound students valuable insights and foster a lasting appreciation of Indonesian culture.
