MMU Students Engage at Asia International Security Summit & Expo 2025 (AISSE’25)

On January 22, 2025, around 40 students from the Faculty of Engineering at Multimedia University attended the Asia International Security Summit & Expo 2025 (AISSE’25), accompanied by two faculty members, Prof. Ir. Dr. Hezerul Karim and Mr. Haris Lye. The event took place at the Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC).

A Significant Forum for Security Technology

The AISSE’25 served as a significant forum for local and international industry leaders to showcase the latest advancements in security technology. The summit addressed evolving trends in public safety, national security, and security management, delivering key insights to attendees.

Plenary Forum on 5G Technology

During the event, students participated in the plenary forum titled “Securing the Future: Leveraging 5G Technology to Strengthen National Security.” This discussion underscored the potential of 5G technology in enhancing national security, particularly in areas such as cyber threat detection and response, network protection, and the mitigation of online scams and cybercrime. The forum was moderated by Puan Eneng Faridah bt Iskandar, Chief Enforcement Officer at the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and featured notable speakers including YB Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil, Minister of Communications, and Mr. Neil Tomkinson, Chief Information Officer of U Mobile.

Opportunities for Students

The summit provided students with opportunities to learn about innovative security solutions and the implications of technology on national security.
