National Artist Professor Performs Alto Saxophone Concerto in Moscow – Chulalongkorn University

On January 23, 2025, Professor Narongrit Dhamabutra, a National Artist in the field of Performing Arts (Western Music – Classical Composition) and a faculty member within the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University, presented a performance of the “Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra” at the Moscow International House of Music. The concert featured saxophonist Theodore Kerkezos as the soloist and was supported by the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Jeremy Walker. The event attracted an audience of approximately 1,700 attendees.

Opening Remarks

Opening remarks were made by Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, the Ambassador of Thailand to Moscow, who was joined by the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Russian Federation and several senior representatives from the Moscow government. This composition has been performed in various locations, including Bangkok and Athens, prior to this event.
