Chulalongkorn University President Meets Cambodian Education Minister to Strengthen Regional Education Ties

Chulalongkorn University has reiterated its commitment to fostering educational collaboration with Cambodia following a meeting between its President, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, and Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, who is an alumnus of the university’s doctoral program in Education Management.

The meeting, held on January 17, 2025, focused on strengthening cooperation in education and research between Thailand and Cambodia. Key topics included the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into educational practices to enhance teaching methodologies and broaden access to education for the youth in the region. Visit to the Institute of Technology of Cambodia

The visit also included a tour of the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), where advancements in engineering and technology were discussed, particularly regarding environmental issues, solar energy generation, and the development of service robots. The delegation was led on this visit by Professor Dr. Po Kimtho, another alumnus of Chulalongkorn University.

Furthermore, Princess Pongmonirath Devi Norodom, an alumna of the Faculty of Communication Arts at Chulalongkorn University, participated in the discussions, emphasizing potential academic and cultural partnerships between the institutions.

Current Cambodian Nationals at Chulalongkorn University

Currently, Chulalongkorn University hosts 11 Cambodian nationals who are involved in studies and research, including undergraduate students from various faculties and scholars. This reflects the university’s substantial impact and the robust connections it has established with Cambodia’s educational landscape.
