University of Luzon Career Awareness Program: Essential Skills for Graduating Students

On November 5, 2025, the University of Luzon organized a Career Awareness Program designed to assist graduating students in their transition into the workforce. This event took place in the 3rd Floor Library from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and was structured into morning and afternoon sessions to promote engagement and educational benefit.
Program Overview
The program commenced with ice-breaking activities led by Prof. Anastacio B. Aquino, Assistant Director of the Office of Student Affairs. Following these activities, Prof. Tzarita Marie P. Mayo, Dean of the College of MLS and Pharmacy, delivered opening remarks that underscored the significance of career readiness for approaching graduates.
Expert Presentations
Participants experienced presentations from two speakers: Dr. Dolores Bustillo, the university’s Human Resource Officer, who addressed strategies for successful interviewing and professional conduct, and Ms. Annabelle Bamba V. Cua, the International Relations Coordinator, who provided information on resume writing and personal grooming. The program also featured interactive open forum sessions, allowing students to engage directly with the experts and obtain personalized advice.
Recruitment Opportunities
Additionally, a recruitment segment was included in the event, featuring a representative from Men2 Marketing and Distribution Enterprise Corporation. This company, established in 2007 and operating in the logistics and distribution sector, offered students the chance to connect with potential employers prior to graduation, reflecting the university’s commitment to supporting student career placement.
Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals
This initiative resonates with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4, which emphasizes quality education, and SDG 8, which advocates for decent work and economic growth. By equipping students with essential job-related competencies and facilitating direct interactions with employers, the Career Awareness Program contributes to the cultivation of a sustainable and inclusive workforce in the region.
