Thai Mind Awards: Chulalongkorn University Recognizes 11 Organizations for Mental Health Promotion

Chulalongkorn University and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation have come together to recognize outstanding contributions to mental health promotion in Thailand. The event celebrated organizations that make significant efforts in enhancing the mental wellbeing of their employees.

Acknowledgment Ceremony

On January 22, 2025, Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Psychology, in partnership with the Thailand Institute for Mental Health Sustainability (TIMS) and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, conducted an award ceremony at the Chulalongkorn University Auditorium to honor 11 organizations for their significant contributions to mental health promotion among employees. This recognition was part of the Thai Mind Awards initiative.

The ceremony featured opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, the President of Chulalongkorn University. Following his address, Dr. Pongthep Wongwatcharapaiboon, Director of ThaiHealth, emphasized the importance of mental health care for personnel within Thai organizations. Asst. Prof. Dr. Nattasuda Taephant, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, provided an overview of the project’s aims and activities. The awards were presented to outstanding organizations in mental health promotion, as well as Honorable Mention Awards recognizing excellence in various dimensions of employee wellbeing. The event concluded with a keynote lecture on healthcare for university personnel delivered by Prof. Dr. Kanaphon Chanhom, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University, accompanied by a panel discussion featuring executives from the awarded organizations.

Recipients of the Thai Mind Awards

The recipients of the Thai Mind Awards included:

  • Excellence in Thai Mind Awards: B.Grimm Power PCL, AIA Thailand Co., Ltd., Western Digital Storage Technologies (Thailand) Ltd. (Prachinburi branch), GE Medical Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Pet Friends Animal Hospital.
  • Honorable Mention Awards: The Aspen Tree, The Forestias, ANC Brokerage Co., Ltd., Siemens Healthcare Ltd., TDCX (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Nakhon Ratchasima Rajanagarindra Psychiatric Hospital, Sing Tor Satin Co., Ltd., and Textile Gallery Co., Ltd. (as PASAYA).

The Thai Mind Awards Initiative

The Thai Mind Awards initiative, a collaborative effort between Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Psychology and TIMS, with support from ThaiHealth, aims to highlight organizations prioritizing the mental wellbeing of their employees. Assessment criteria focus on five dimensions referred to as “GRACE,” which stands for Growth & Development, Recognition, All for Inclusion, Care for Health & Safety, and work-life Enrichment. This initiative underscores the role organizations play in enhancing mental health in conjunction with physical health, contributing to improved quality of life within Thai society.

Significance of the Awards

Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat noted the significance of these awards in advancing mental wellbeing as a key component of quality of life and societal progress. Feedback from the recognized organizations indicated a growing commitment to mental health initiatives, reflecting an increasing acknowledgment of its importance in workplace environments.
