KKU Participates in 138th Si Harach Coffee Council to Enhance Regional Collaboration

Khon Kaen University (KKU) participated in the 138th Si Harach Coffee Council meeting on October 28, 2025, at the Khon Kaen International Airport Building. This event was co-hosted by Khon Kaen International Airport and the Northeastern Royal Rainmaking Operations Centre.

Council Objectives

The council’s objective was to enhance collaboration among government agencies, the private sector, and local partners. The gathering aimed to facilitate the exchange of information and perspectives while promoting relationships aimed at sustainable regional development. Prior to the meeting, attendees observed a moment of silence in tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, honoring her memory and contributions.

Sithan Festival Announcement

During the meeting, Chumporn Para, Director of the Corporate Communications Division at KKU, announced the “Sithan Festival 2025,” which is scheduled to take place from November 3 to November 5, 2025, along Sithan Lake on the university campus. The festival format has been revised to adapt to current circumstances while maintaining traditional activities.

Highlighted Events

Highlighted events for the festival include:

  • A traditional Isan procession of condolence honoring the legacy of Her Majesty.
  • The lighting of 15,000 ground lanterns (Krathong Bok) arranged to spell “SK KKU,” symbolizing loyalty and devotion.
  • A ceremony at the Phra Sumera Monument, which will be available for public tributes 24 hours a day.

Commemoration and Additional Information
