It took place at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City.
ZPH Forum Overview
The ZPH served as a validation platform for the preliminary outputs of the newly developed curriculum, which included proposed degree program descriptions, updated program outcomes, and clearly defined specialization tracks essential for modern teacher preparation. The university’s delegation included Prof. Aillene Q. Caraulia, Prof. Rizel B. Padua, Prof. Kimberly S. Delgado, Prof. Daniel Xerxes S. Padrid, and Prof. Joerom D. Onofre, reflecting the institution’s dedication to aligning educational standards with national and international benchmarks.
Discussions on Educational Policy
During the forum, faculty members engaged in discussions surrounding educational policy, addressing key standards for teacher education and the integration of specialized and general education majors. Their contributions highlighted the importance of incorporating perspectives from the university community, particularly regarding the preparedness of future educators within national policy considerations. This involvement aims to foster a curriculum that is both flexible and representative of effective educational practices.
Global Initiatives and Commitment
The University of Luzon’s role in the national reframing of the pre-service teacher education curriculum is aligned with global initiatives, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This participation supports SDG 4, which focuses on quality education and equitable learning opportunities. Additionally, collaboration with organizations such as RITQ and TEC underscores a commitment to SDG 17, which centers on partnerships for comprehensive and effective educational reform.
