FET Team Wins Consolation Prize at Future Engineering Talents Gateway Programme

Five students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) at Multimedia University recently participated in the Future Engineering Talents Gateway Programme, which took place on August 20 at the Connexion Conference & Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur. This event was part of the BEM National Engineering Convention 2025.
Team Composition and Participation
The team, consisting of Amelie Hoo Jia Ern as team leader, Auni Raihanah Binti Muhammad Yasser, Andrea Lim Li Qin, Kayshav A/L Thangiah, and Keisavanaath A/L Kannan, engaged in the “Hackathon: Engineering Start-Up Pitch – Build. Solve. Inspire.” During the competition, they presented innovative solutions to real-world engineering challenges and received a consolation prize. Auni Raihanah represented the team during the award presentation ceremony.
Event Overview
The Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) organized the convention to promote innovation, collaboration, and practical engineering solutions by uniting aspiring engineers, industry professionals, and academics. The hackathon component emphasized creativity and teamwork, offering students opportunities for entrepreneurship, networking, and interaction with industry representatives.

The participating students were accompanied by Ir. Dr. Jason Lee Lian Hong, demonstrating skills consistent with Multimedia University’s objective of cultivating future engineering leaders.
