Chung-Ang University and University of Georgia Establish Partnership for Global Research and Student Exchange

Chung-Ang University (CAU) and the University of Georgia (UGA) have established a partnership focused on global research and student exchange initiatives. This collaboration was formalized on July 25, when CAU President Park Sang-gue and UGA Provost Benjamin Ayers signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at UGA.
The Memorandum of Understanding
The MOU outlines plans for joint research efforts, faculty and researcher exchanges, and new student exchange programs. Both institutions aim to collaborate in diverse fields such as artificial intelligence, bioengineering, medicine, pharmacy, and arts engineering, alongside their previously existing commitments in education and statistics.
Short-term Faculty Residency Program
Additionally, UGA plans to enhance its short-term faculty overseas residency program to include relevant fields at CAU in an effort to promote international research. A student exchange agreement is also anticipated to be finalized shortly, allowing for exchanges to begin in the latter half of the next year.
Culture and Art Technology Program
UGA has also expressed interest in CAU’s Culture and Art Technology (CAT) program, which has garnered substantial involvement from students in the United States and Europe. UGA intends to send students to participate in this program in the upcoming summer, thus further strengthening the partnership between the two institutions.
Benefits of the Collaboration
Provost Ayers acknowledged CAU’s reputation as a research-intensive institution, noting the potential advantages of this collaboration for students at both universities, including enhanced cultural experiences and academic opportunities.
