CMU Graduates Class of 2025 Receive Diplomas and TORs on Graduation Day

Central Mindanao University (CMU) conducted its 71st Commencement Exercises, during which diplomas and Transcripts of Records (TORs) were distributed to the graduating Class of 2025 on-site for the first time. This initiative, designed to provide graduates with immediate access to critical academic credentials, received positive feedback from attendees and the public, highlighting the importance of these documents for employment and licensure.
University President’s Remarks
University President Dr. Rolito G. Eballe noted that this development is a reflection of CMU’s dedication to service excellence and ongoing system improvements. He acknowledged the efforts of various committees, particularly the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Office of the University Registrar, for facilitating this initiative. Dr. Eballe also commended the graduates for their timely completion of clearance processes, which made the same-day distribution successful.
Significance of the Initiative
Dr. Allan E. Salonga, the University Registrar, emphasized the significance of this initiative for students coming from remote areas, who often travel long distances to pursue their education. He remarked that the optimized process for document retrieval enables graduates to enter the workforce without unnecessary delays.
Graduate Experiences
Among the graduates, Arlyn Gaea Pearl B. Boquila, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science student, expressed her satisfaction with receiving her TOR and diploma simultaneously. She indicated that this arrangement allowed her to enhance her graduation experience and immediately start applying for jobs.
Academic Achievements
A total of 2,940 graduates were awarded degrees during the two-day event, which highlighted notable academic achievements, including three summa cum laude honors, 116 magna cum laude, and 908 cum laude recipients. Additionally, Jhamyle B. Pangcoga, from the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program, received the Commission on Higher Education’s CHED UniFAST Academic Excellence Award for achieving the highest general weighted average according to the university’s standards.

The 71st Commencement Exercises took place on July 24-25, 2025, at the University Convention Center, under the theme “Conquering Horizons through Global Foresight, Performance Management, and Innovation.”
