NUOL Creativity and Innovation Workshop: Enhancing Skills in Collaboration with UCD-IA and VNU

From November 4 to 8, 2024, the National University of Laos (NUOL) conducted a training workshop centered on creativity and innovation. This event was organized in partnership with the University College Dublin – Innovation Academy (UCD-IA) from Ireland and Vietnam National University (VNU). The primary aim of the workshop was to equip graduates with essential skills relevant to the 21st century.

Financial Support and Focus Areas

The workshop was financially supported by Irish Aid, with additional funding from UCD-IA. It focused on promoting team and community building for learning, encouraging creativity and innovation, and incorporating design thinking principles. Activities took place both on-campus and off-campus, allowing participants to engage in exercises that fostered empathy, identified significant challenges, and developed innovative solutions.

Insights from NUOL Leadership

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dexanourath Seneduangdeth, Acting President of NUOL, emphasized the workshop’s importance in enhancing collaboration and boosting the capacity of both faculty and students in the realms of creativity and innovation. The initiative was regarded as a valuable opportunity for participants to integrate creative approaches into their academic pursuits and research activities.

Participation and Outcomes

A total of 22 academics and 40 students took part in the workshop, which included various activities designed to nurture a culture of creativity and innovation. This event is considered a significant step toward establishing sustainable partnerships and enhancing the skill sets of future graduates.
