French Delegation from Université Paris Cité Visits Tsung-Dao Lee Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University

On April 11, 2025, a delegation from Université Paris Cité (UPCité) engaged with the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The delegation, which was led by Professor Antoine Kouchner, the Vice President for International Affairs and Director of the Astroparticle Physics and Cosmology Laboratory, included Professor Valérie Serre and Dr. Jan Douat. They were welcomed by Academician Jie Zhang, the Director of TDLI, along with other notable scholars and staff.
Visit Overview
The visit commenced with a tour of TDLI’s research facilities, including the PandaX Dark Matter and Neutrino Detection Laboratory, the TRIDENT Laboratory, and the Collider Laboratory. This tour aimed to provide the delegation with insights into the institute’s scientific infrastructure and research capabilities.
Meeting Insights
Following the tour, a meeting took place where Director Jie Zhang presented an overview of TDLI’s establishment, strategic positioning, research focus, and future objectives. He also highlighted ongoing international collaborations. In response, Professor Kouchner expressed appreciation for the warm reception and elaborated on UPCité’s academic structure as well as its international cooperation initiatives. The discussions were centered around talent development, joint research efforts, and academic exchanges, reflecting a collective interest in bolstering collaboration.
Lecture on KM3NeT Project
Subsequently, Professor Kouchner delivered a lecture to TDLI faculty and students regarding the KM3NeT Neutrino Telescope Project. This segment of the visit encouraged interaction on topics relating to the project’s construction, research partnerships, and recent findings.
