UniKL Distributes CARE Boxes of Love to Support Flood-Affected Alumni

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) has launched a supportive outreach program aimed at assisting 22 graduates affected by the flash floods that occurred in late 2024. The initiative, coordinated by the Centre for Alumni & Career Services (CACS), involved the distribution of Alumni CARE Boxes, which included essential groceries and financial support amounting to RM6,000.

Targeted Distribution of Support

The distribution targeted alumni residing in the states of Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu, with the majority of beneficiaries located in Kelantan. CACS facilitated the support for 17 alumni in Kelantan and Terengganu, while an additional five alumni received assistance from the UniKL Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) in Kedah.

Contents of the Alumni CARE Boxes

Each CARE Box provided essential items, including staples such as rice, canned goods, and biscuits, designed to support the recovery efforts of the alumni. This assistance was organized through the Alumni Welfare Fund, which was established during the Malam Apresiasi Alumni UniKL held on August 25, 2024.

Distribution Breakdown by Campus

A breakdown of the distribution by campus revealed that UniKL RCMP, MIMET, BMI, MESTECH, and MITEC each provided aid to three alumni. In contrast, MIIT and the Business School supported two alumni, while MICET assisted one alumnus.
