Jesselton University College and Universitas Sebelas Maret Forge Partnership at AppliedHE Xchange: UNS @ Bali 2025
Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia – February 23, 2025 – Jesselton University College (JUC) and Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Indonesia, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the prestigious AppliedHE Xchange: UNS @ Bali 2025 conference, strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Datuk Dr. Fred Y F Chin, President of JUC, and Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., Rector of UNS, on February 23, 2025, at the InterContinental Bali Resort.
AppliedHE Xchange: UNS @ Bali 2025, co-hosted by UNS, is a premier higher education conference that brings together global educators, researchers, and policymakers to explore new approaches to academic excellence and industry alignment. The event, held from February 23 to 25, 2025, focuses on bridging the academia-industry gap, curriculum development, and leveraging rankings and ratings for global competitiveness.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Datuk Dr. Fred Y F Chin highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “This MoU marks an important step in JUC’s mission to provide a global learning experience. Partnering with UNS at such a distinguished event enables both institutions to explore new avenues for academic growth and collaboration. Furthermore, this partnership aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, reinforcing our commitment to global cooperation in higher education.”
Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) also emphasized the value of the partnership, viewing it as an opportunity to expand its international academic network. The collaboration is expected to foster meaningful research and academic exchanges that will benefit students, faculty, and both institutions.
