UTM Joins D8-NPRI: New Perspectives for Research and Innovation Collaboration
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been accepted as a member of the D-8 Network of Pioneers for Research and Innovation (D8-NPRI), designated NPRI/24/676. The Centre for Real Estate Studies is the first entity from UTM to join this international consortium.
D8-Network Overview
The D8-NPRI includes academic and research institutions from eight developing nations: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey. The network aims to promote scientific, technological, and economic collaboration among member countries through knowledge exchange, joint research initiatives, and the development of innovative solutions to shared challenges.
UTM’s Contribution to Global Progress
UTM’s participation in the D8-NPRI enhances its role in global scientific and technological progress. The Centre for Real Estate Studies will leverage its expertise in real estate, urban development, and infrastructure planning to contribute to discussions on sustainable development, smart cities, and climate adaptability.

Additionally, UTM plans to organize and host various events, including webinars and training programs, aimed at promoting knowledge sharing and capacity building among member institutions. The effort to join the D8-NPRI was led by Associate Professor Ts. Sr Dr. Noorsidi Aizuddin Bin Hj Mat Noor, with support from multiple university departments.
