‘Thammasat’ with ‘National Science Museum’ to Enhance Science

Thammasat University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Science Museum (NSM), attended by key officials including Prof. Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Acting Rector of Thammasat University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Rawin Rawiwong, Director of the National Science Museum. The agreement aims to enhance learning resources and conduct activities to promote knowledge in science, technology, and the environment. It focuses on research in science communication, natural sciences, and biodiversity, as well as the exchange of educational materials and academic information. The collaboration also emphasizes personnel development in research, science communication, and raising public awareness about these fields.

Professor Dr. Supasawad stated that this collaboration represents a unification of efforts between two institutions that play significant roles in the development of Thai society. Thammasat University, which has a mission to create and promote knowledge across various disciplines, and the National Science Museum Organization, which serves as a source of learning and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge to the public.

      Mr. Suwarong Wongsiri, Deputy Director of NSM, emphasized that the organization, part of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, is dedicated to raising awareness about the role of science in national development. Its mission includes educating youth and the public to cultivate a positive attitude toward science, technology, and innovation. This is accomplished through exhibitions and scientific activities that promote lifelong learning, particularly through museums, encouraging a passion for discovery and continuous education in science.

 This collaboration has been established with the cooperation of various faculties at Thammasat University. It aims to promote and develop knowledge and understanding in the fields of science, technology, and innovation (STI) across various dimensions. The objective is to create a scientific society and drive national development, in alignment with the policies of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation (MHESI), focusing on developing human resources and promoting lifelong learning for youth and the public comprehensively
