UI International Education Expo 2024: Peluang Pendidikan Bertaraf Internasional di Universitas Indonesia
On November 16, 2024, Universitas Indonesia (UI) hosted the UI International Education Expo 2024 at the Science Techno Park on its campus. The event aimed to highlight the university’s International Class Program by showcasing campus facilities, study programs, and student activities while providing information about admission procedures for prospective students. The expo attracted over 1,500 attendees, including high school students, parents, educators, and members of the general public.
University’s Commitment to Education
Dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D., the Secretary of the University, acknowledged the participation enthusiasm and stated that the event aimed to serve as a reliable information source for prospective students, parents, and educators in planning educational strategies. He emphasized the university’s goal of producing graduates capable of contributing to national and global advancements.
The International Class Program
The International Class Program at UI provides high school graduates with the opportunity to receive an education that meets international standards. This initiative encompasses eight faculties, collaborating with renowned partner universities worldwide to offer students a comprehensive educational experience that incorporates global and multicultural perspectives.
Program Options
UI offers two variations of this program: the single degree and double degree options. The single degree program involves seven semesters of study at UI followed by one semester at an overseas partner university. In contrast, the double degree program enables students to earn degrees from both UI and an international partner institution simultaneously.
Attendee Feedback
Students and parents expressed appreciation for the valuable information provided at the expo. Kirani, a student from SMK IT Bina Adzkia, remarked on the effectiveness of the event in delivering insights into the available study programs, including details about the admissions process, faculty information, and tuition fees. A parent present also acknowledged the event’s usefulness in clarifying educational opportunities and costs, thus facilitating better planning for their child’s education.
Enhancing Public Understanding
Dra. Amelita Lusia, M.Si., Head of the Public Relations and KIP Bureau at UI, underscored the event’s role in enhancing public understanding of international-standard education. She stated that the expo reflects the university’s commitment to providing accessible information and resources to the community, thereby assisting prospective students in making informed educational choices.
