Tianjin University Celebrates 2024 Peiyang Sports Excellence Awards
Tianjin University recently hosted the 2024 Peiyang Sports Excellence Awards Ceremony on November 22 at the University Activity Center. The event aimed to honor outstanding student athletes and individuals who have significantly contributed to the university’s sports community. Notable participants included Yang Huan, Director of the Publicity Department, and various deputy secretaries from different colleges, alongside approximately 200 students, coaches, and club instructors.
Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony commenced with a performance by the Peiyang Shuffle Dance Club, followed by presentations from fifteen finalists who shared their personal stories, exemplifying resilience and determination. Additional entertainment was provided by the TJU Taekwondo Team, as well as various cheerleading and dance groups.
Awards and Recognition
The “Peiyang Sports Excellence Award” was awarded to ten students: Ma Chaoyang, Peng Rongxiang, Cang Xingchen, Wang Wenjie, Mao Tianqin, Han Huizhen, Wang Boya, Chen Yixin, Hu Jinyu, and Li Mingchen. Additionally, five other students received the “Peiyang Sports Excellence Nomination Award,” with Mao Tianqin being recognized with the “Popular Choice Award.” Awards were conferred by Yang Huan, who engaged in a photo session with the recipients.

In his speech, Yang praised the awardees and emphasized the significance of sports in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and resilience. He encouraged the integration of physical education with academic activities and advocated for increased collaboration to enhance sports initiatives at the university, urging students to view sports as a vehicle for character development and personal fulfillment.
