NEXUS: A Symbol of Connection

The term “NEXUS” is intended to symbolize its mission as a connection point that encompasses News, Exploration, limitless X, Understanding, and Surpass. The podcast seeks to extend beyond traditional academic boundaries, establishing a new “third space” that integrates knowledge, innovation, and culture while overcoming language and geographical barriers. By offering bilingual content, the podcast aims to enlighten international audiences regarding the university’s academic accomplishments and local culture, while also assisting listeners in developing their language skills.

Core Programs of NYCU NEXUS

The podcast features three core programs. The first, “Tech Talk at NYCU,” is hosted by trend analyst Hung-Wen Lin and collaborates with NYCU’s Office of International Promotion and Outreach. This program includes interviews with experts in various fields, including artificial intelligence and semiconductors. This program focuses on NYCU’s collaborative advancements in regenerative medicine and stem cell mass production, employing AI voice technology to translate Chinese discussions into English, and will consist of 12 episodes released weekly.

The second program, “Bilingual Buzz at NYCU,” is hosted by two students and presents campus news and international events in a lighthearted manner. This program, which debuted on September 22, aims to make complex current affairs more accessible to a younger audience while informing listeners and enhancing their language skills.

The third program, “Your Senpais’ Here,” is conducted entirely in English and features students sharing their personal experiences at NYCU, discussing various aspects of university life. This program leverages cultural elements to engage an international audience, with new episodes released every Thursday.
