Yonsei University Explores Global Startup Collaboration with Utah State
On September 26, 2024, Yonsei University hosted a roundtable discussion with a delegation from Utah to explore opportunities for collaboration in global startup initiatives and research and development (R&D) in the life sciences sector. The delegation was led by Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox and Senate President Stuart Adams.

In a follow-up session, the Utah delegation met with representatives from Yonsei’s startup community to discuss various support policies and examples of collaboration from Utah. Governor Cox highlighted Utah’s reputation as a leading business state in the U.S. and its emergence as a growing information technology hub, often referred to as “Silicon Slopes.”
Longstanding Relationship and Future Potential
The collaboration builds on a longstanding relationship between Yonsei University and the University of Utah, established in 2007, which has facilitated academic and research cooperation over the years. The University of Utah is known for producing influential global entrepreneurs, suggesting strong potential for future collaborative initiatives.
