Exhibition & Fashion Show at Thammasat-Rangsit
Thammasat University hosted a Student Thesis Exhibition and Fashion Show entitled “Pastra 24” to mark the upcoming 90th anniversary of Thammasat University in 2024. This event was one of a full schedule of significant events planned for June 2023 to June 2024 to celebrate the lead-up to the nine- decade anniversary in 2024.
On this occasion, ambassadors and representatives from the embassies of Bangladesh, Mexico, Nepal, and Timor-Leste, together with Thammasat executives, lecturers, students and distinguished guests, participated in the official opening ceremony and were led on an exhibition “Talk & Walk”. They were guided by specialist instructors from the Fashion Design Department of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts.
The exhibition featured textile designs of fourth-year students, showcasing more than 100 artworks from 37 students. Each design revealed distinctive neatly-sewn patterns, use of recyclable materials and themes in order to reflect such social issues as gender equality, a social movement that will lead Thammasat to achieve its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In addition, the artworks allowed students to present their ideas and beliefs through the aesthetics of arts. The showcase took place between 28-30 June at Puey Ungphakorn Centenary Hall, Thammasat-Rangsit.
Afterwards, all participants enjoyed a runway fashion show at the main Auditorium of Puey Ungphakorn Centenary Hall. An aisle between the seats allowed the audience a front row view of students’ designs, enhancing audience engagement and creating memorable impressions on all who attended.
