Thammasat Business School, MOU Community Support Association Driving Thammasat Model, Generation 7

Assistant Professor Dr. Oraphan Yolrabil, Advisor to the Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty of Commerce, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasopon, President of the Community Support Association under the “Community Support Association (Puen Chum Chon) – Thammasat Model Project, Generation 7, on Promoting and Developing the Potential of Community Enterprises and Local Economic Groups in the Map Ta Phut Complex area according to the Thammasat Model”.

This cooperation includes community economic foundation development, introducing new perspectives to improving the product to meet the needs of a wide range of customers and increasing competitive capacity over other products in the market. In addition, the cooperation between the government, the private sector and educational institutions pointed out the determination to work together to develop community enterprises with a strong foundation and sustainable self-reliance.

For this year, a total of 9 community enterprises participated in the project.

🔹 Baan Sam Ice Brahman Beef Cattle Community Enterprise

Assistant Professor Dr. Oraphan Yolrabil said that the Thammasat Model project is an ongoing project that helps develop community economic foundation, introducing new perspectives to improving the product to meet the needs of a wide range of customers and increasing competitive capacity over other products in the market. In addition, the cooperation between the government, the private sector and educational institutions pointed out the determination to work together to develop community enterprises with a strong foundation and sustainable self-reliance by focusing on the philosophy of sufficiency economy and brringing existing local knowledge to build on with technology and systematic management to initiate a body of knowledge for the community to develop their own potentials. These are the main goals to genuinely support community enterprises.

Mr. Mongkol Hengrojanasopon, President of the Community Support Association said that this cooperation is a progress of the expansion to raise the standard level of community enterprises that has been in collaboration with the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Thammasat University to promote and develop the potential of community enterprises in the Map Ta Phut Complex area by applying the “Thammasat Model” principle to develop the learning process for community enterprises and local economic groups to obtain the ability to provide commercial services, including the exchange of research and development information between the communities, where the faculty and students of the Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Program in Business and Accounting (IBMP), Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Thammasat University, which performs missions, provides advice and is mentors to 9 target communities which takes a period of not less than 6 months under a 1-year cooperation framework and as well engages with entrepreneurs, industrial sector within the area, and network partners as “mentor company” for each group of community enterprises by working with students in raising the potential both in the aspect of management, improving the quality of products and services, income generation, and supporting each other to increase trade competitiveness for community enterprises in Rayong province to achieve international standards as well as jointly drive the model for the development of Eco Industrial Town for Rayong Province.
