FTMM UNAIR Participates in Outbound Program at Rangsit University, Thailand

On December 19, 2024, a delegation consisting of four students and three faculty members from the Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline (FTMM) at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) participated in an outbound program at the College of Biomedical Engineering, Rangsit University in Thailand.

Faculty and Students Involved

The faculty members included Dr. Prihartini Widiyanti, drg., M.Kes., S.Bio., CCD; Rizki Putra Prastio, S.Si., M.T.; and Amila Sofiah, S.T., M.T. The students who took part were Faatih Sabiil An Najaah, Christopher Geoffrey, Arfandi Qurrata’ain, and Brendan Muhammad Subhan. The program aimed to strengthen academic relationships and foster opportunities for international collaboration in education and research.

Comparative Study and Institutional Insights

During the visit, representatives from UNAIR and Rangsit University engaged in a comparative study that highlighted their respective flagship programs and innovations. The College of Biomedical Engineering provided insights into its history and achievements, while the UNAIR delegation showcased the university’s focus on innovative and multidisciplinary technologies. This exchange promoted a deeper understanding and collaboration between the institutions.

Campus Tour and Facilities Exploration

The delegation toured the Rangsit University campus, exploring various facilities, including the materials laboratory, healthcare robotics lab, medical instrumentation lab, and AI and robotics research spaces. The students noted that the tour offered valuable insights into the advanced facilities and technologies available at Rangsit University.

Mini-Seminar and Research Exchange

Additionally, students from both institutions participated in a mini-seminar, where they presented and discussed their ongoing research projects. This seminar facilitated an exchange of ideas and innovations, contributing to the strengthening of relationships between the participating universities.

Future Collaboration Opportunities

The discussions also centered on exploring deeper collaboration opportunities through international programs aimed at enhancing educational and research partnerships between UNAIR and Rangsit University.

Significance of the Initiatives

Dr. Prihartini Widiyanti highlighted the significance of these initiatives for improving educational quality and expanding international opportunities for students. She expressed optimism for the continuation of collaboration between the two universities, emphasizing the potential for this partnership to inspire FTMM students to consider further studies at Rangsit University.
