The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) at Multimedia University recently organized the I³ Entrepreneur Series on April 9, 2025, across its Cyberjaya and Melaka campuses. The initiative aimed to inspire aspiring student entrepreneurs by providing a platform for industry leaders to share insights from their entrepreneurial experiences.

Insights from Cyberjaya

At the Dewan Tun Canselor in Cyberjaya, Mr. YC Chia, Founder of Ticket2U, discussed his journey in founding a multimillion-ringgit enterprise that offers comprehensive online ticketing solutions. Since its inception in 2016, Ticket2U has expanded its operations to Singapore and Indonesia, establishing itself as a significant player in the Southeast Asian event management industry. Chia highlighted the importance of execution in entrepreneurship, emphasizing that while ideas are valuable, success requires strategic implementation, adaptability, and perseverance.

Perspectives from Melaka

In Melaka, Mr. Dang Tai Luk, Group Chief Executive Officer of MyNews Holdings Berhad, addressed attendees regarding his leadership of one of Malaysia’s leading convenience store chains. Under his tenure, MyNews has expanded to over 600 stores, which include 482 myNews outlets along with CU Stores, WHSmith locations, and Maru Coffee. Dang provided insights into business sustainability, branding, and market expansion, encouraging students to pursue their entrepreneurial goals with dedication and resilience.
