2025 Ewha University Matriculation Ceremony and Welcome Event for New Students

On February 28, 2025, Ewha Womans University conducted its matriculation ceremony at Welch-Ryang Auditorium, marking the formal welcome of 3,819 new students. The ceremony commenced at 10 AM and featured remarks from President Hyang-Sook Lee, who congratulated the incoming students on their academic journey. President Lee reiterated the university’s dedication to cultivating global women leaders and shared insights into future-oriented educational models and innovative training programs, including the initiative titled “AI 4 All Ewha.”

Ceremony Highlights

The ceremony also included introductions of prominent faculty members, a musical performance by the Ewha Brass Ensemble, and a choral performance by male professors affiliated with the university. Gyu-won Kim, a representative from the College of Pharmacy, and Nguyen Le Bao Tran, a scholarship recipient from the College of Business Administration, addressed their peers and articulated their aspirations as new members of the university community. The event concluded with the singing of the school anthem and a benediction.

Welcome Activities

In addition to the formal ceremony, new students participated in “Welcome to Ewha,” a talk-show-style event designed to facilitate their transition into university life. The Office of Student Affairs provided welcome kits to commemorate the occasion, which included a specially-designed plush toy, an I@EWHA guidebook, and various souvenirs.
