Thammasat research teams sweep awards from ITEX 2023
The inventors and researchers from Thammasat University received awards from The 34th International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2023) held in Kuala Lumpur, Federation of Malaysia. The competition is divided into 2 levels: inventor/researcher level and youth level.
Thammasat teams are able to win a total of 27 awards, including 9 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 9 special awards.
9 Gold Medal Awards
1. Project Title: Development and properties of polypropylene/ Polyethylene vinyl acetate/ micro-cellulose for polishing materials application in Thailand’s jewelry industry (bright a gems)
by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chirawut Phetyen, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Benya Cherdhirankorn, Asst. Prof. Duangkhae Butkul, Ms. Kanyarat Namnon, Mr. Suphanat Sarika, Mr. Samut Na Ratchasima and Mr. Jesada Jianchit-aree received a special award from the on stage event, the ITEX 2023 Best Invention Award-International.
2. Project Title: TU-SBA

Prof. Dr. Supakorn Boonyuen, Faculty of Science and Technology and the research team, namely Mr. Panote Lakkhanawaraporn, Mr. Natthapat Kaewthong, Ms. Suchanan Puangnak and Dr. Shanmugam Paramasivam received a special award from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), Taiwan.
3. Project Title: Gluten-free and Soy-free Plant-based Chicken Meat from Young Jackfruit

4. Project Title: Healthy Instant Quinoa Roti with Condensed Milk Gel

5. Project Title: 43 Rico fermented RD 43 rice drink

ITEX is one of the Asia’s largest competitions and exhibitions for inventors from different countries, held over 30 times. It is as well a forum for interested inventors and researchers from various countries to participate in research exhibitions and exchanging experiences between inventors and researchers organized by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS), an agency promoting inventions and design of Malaysia.
